The time has come for us to educate ourselves about Islam! The Islamic tradition has both deep divisions from, and wide connections to, Judaism.
Temple Beth El is proud to present Rabbi Phillip Lieberman, PhD, a visiting assistant professor of Middle East history and rabbi in Englewood, NJ. His lectures about Islamic history and religion and Jewish social and economic relations have been presented at the 92nd Street Y.
Rabbi Lieberman will be discussing the Bible and Koran and describing the role of Jerusalem in both Islam and Judaism.
Please join us to gain an understanding of what Islam truly means. Questions: Temple Beth El 845-356-2000

· Am I a Jewish American or an American Jew? Is there a difference?
· What are my most important Jewish memories and what do they contribute to the Jew that I am today?
· What role does gender play in my own Jewish identity?
· What objects would you choose to go into a time capsule to represent different times in Jewish history, and why?
· What is your deepest, darkest “Jewish Secret?”
